L&A Dark Sky Viewing area

Dark Sky viewing area

a great place to see the stars anytime

Nestled 10 minutes south of Thrill Seeker base, the L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area offers a celestial experience akin to the starry nights of a century ago, the most southerly point in the province to do so. The site features a concrete pad for camera or telescope setup, or simply for placing lawn chairs to gaze upon the natural wonder of the stars. Ample parking and a spacious concrete pad cater to those seeking to observe the heavens, whether through lenses or with the naked eye. DSVA is available year-round for the stargazers and they hosts monthly events from May through September, but weather permitting. These gatherings provide a laser-guided tour of the night sky and the opportunity to peer through telescopes, making them an ideal introduction for novice stargazers to the wonders of the cosmos. If you would like your own private space to enjoy the peace watching the Sky in a bubbly hot tub check it out our RV accommodation right at the Thrill Seeker Base.

Laser-Guided Stargazing Tour events take place on Friday & Saturday nights near a new moon. Each starts about an hour after dusk and lasts approximately 60 minutes. Weather permitting, you’ll get a laser-guided tour of the night sky. After the laser tour, you can line up to take a look through our 16″ Dobsonian Telescope.

These free events are a great way for novice stargazers to get acquainted with the night sky.
